These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CookCredit platform, including the website, mobile applications, scoring system, marketplace, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by CookCredit LLC ("CookCredit," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@cookcredit.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Assessment Sessions. CookCredit provides a skill assessment tool that uses your device's camera and on-device machine learning models to analyze cutting technique. The system tracks hand movements, blade trajectories, and resulting output to produce a numerical score.
Score Accuracy. Scores are generated by automated systems and are provided for informational and certification purposes. While we strive for accuracy, scores reflect algorithmic analysis of captured data and may not fully represent your skill level in all conditions. Scores may be affected by lighting, camera angle, device performance, and other environmental factors.
Certification. A passing assessment score may qualify you for marketplace certification, subject to additional verification at our discretion. Certification status may be revoked if we determine that a session was conducted fraudulently or under conditions that materially compromise score integrity.
Data Collection During Sessions. During assessment sessions, the Service processes camera data on your device to extract hand landmark coordinates, blade trajectory estimates, timing data, and piece measurements. Raw video is not stored or transmitted. The extracted numerical data may be transmitted to our servers for score computation and storage. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Platform Role. CookCredit operates as a platform connecting certified home cooks with individuals seeking home-prepared meals. CookCredit is not a food service provider, employer, or agent of any cook or eater. We do not prepare, inspect, or deliver food.
Cook Responsibilities. If you use the Service as a cook, you are solely responsible for:
Eater Responsibilities. If you use the Service as an eater, you acknowledge that meals are prepared in private home kitchens, not licensed commercial facilities (unless the cook has obtained such licensing independently). You are responsible for communicating dietary restrictions and allergies. CookCredit is not liable for allergic reactions, foodborne illness, or other adverse events resulting from food obtained through the platform.
Payments. Payments between eaters and cooks are facilitated through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). CookCredit charges a platform fee as disclosed at the time of transaction. Payment terms, disputes, and refund eligibility are subject to our Marketplace Payment Policy (incorporated by reference and available upon marketplace launch).
You agree not to:
Our Property. The Service, including its design, scoring algorithms, detection models, software, content, trademarks, and underlying technology, is the property of CookCredit LLC and is protected by United States and international intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service except the limited right to use it as described herein.
Your Data. You retain ownership of the content you submit through the Service (such as profile information). By submitting content, you grant CookCredit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and display that content as necessary to operate the Service.
Assessment Data. By conducting assessment sessions, you grant CookCredit a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, aggregate, anonymize, and analyze the extracted session data (hand poses, trajectories, timing, measurements, scores) for purposes of improving the Service, conducting research, training machine learning models, and developing new products. This license applies only to the extracted numerical data, not to any video or images (which are not stored).
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: (A) THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; (B) SCORES WILL BE PERFECTLY ACCURATE OR CONSISTENT ACROSS ALL DEVICES AND CONDITIONS; (C) ANY PARTICULAR SCORE WILL RESULT IN MARKETPLACE CERTIFICATION; OR (D) THE MARKETPLACE WILL GUARANTEE ANY VOLUME OF BUSINESS TO CERTIFIED COOKS.
COOKCREDIT DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE SAFETY OF FOOD PREPARED BY COOKS ON THE PLATFORM. CERTIFICATION INDICATES THAT A COOK HAS DEMONSTRATED CERTAIN CUTTING SKILLS THROUGH OUR AUTOMATED ASSESSMENT AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION, HEALTH INSPECTION, OR SUBSTITUTE FOR ANY REGULATORY REQUIREMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COOKCREDIT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO COOKCREDIT IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 USD).
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CookCredit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) food you prepare, sell, or distribute through the platform; or (e) any dispute between you and another user of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, and 12.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting info@cookcredit.com. Account deletion does not affect our license to anonymized assessment data as described in Section 6.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service.

Class Action Waiver. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against CookCredit.
Small Claims Exception. Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdictional limits.
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and CookCredit regarding the Service.
